The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, providing flexible and quality education through open and distance learning (ODL). Established to cater to the needs of school dropouts, working professionals, and those unable to attend regular schooling, NIOS is the largest open schooling system in the world.
